Often called an ‘old soul’, Tessa teaches yoga with compassion, wisdom and grace. Her classes are challenging yet allowing, structured yet spacious, and deeply rooted in yogic tradition and philosophy, while evolved with the most progressive advancements in yoga pedagogy today. After completing her Degree in Sociology at Dalhousie University, Tessa’s desire was to work within the therapeutic realm in a community that supported alternative practices to healing. In 2009, Tessa found these at Moksha Yoga in Halifax which dovetailed with her interests and passion for health and wellness. Tessa received her 500 hr teaching certification in Victoria, B.C., and then received her Vinyassa certification in Kelowna B. C. from Moksha Yoga less than a year later. She has since developed a strong desire to make Moksha accessible to the City of Kingston. Tessa knows that her growth off her mat is attributed to Moksha’s seven pillars: Be Healthy, Be Accessible, Be Green, Reach Out, Live to Learn, Sangha Support and Be Peace. The seven pillars have motivated Tessa and truly set the stage for her vision of creating a vibrant and healthy studio, a place where yogis can be inspired, feel at home, and evolve into their best selves.
