Open Your Heart to Backbends: A deeper Exploration of the Backbend Poses
Learn to love backends. Whether you have never done a backbend before or they are part of your regular practice, this workshop will have something for everyone. Join Jo for a 90 minute workshop looking at spine alignment, strengthening of supporting joints, and opening key areas such as the hips, in preparation for backbends. We will work towards two main backbends that are found in the Moksha and Moksha Flow sequence, camel (Ustrasana) and wheel (Urdva Dhanurasana). Whether you try your first backbend or expand your current practice, you will leave with more confidence, creating a strong foundation for a safe and steady backbending practice.
Jo is a certified Moksha Yoga teacher trained in Moksha Flow, yin, and yang/yin. Jo has always been physically active, spending most of her life as gymnast, she found yoga as a way of treating her injured body while easing the mind. She is passionate about sharing the many amazing benefits yoga can have by providing all inclusive classes with a positive and fun energy.
